The search for the perfect sound coupled with a will to really penetrate the music being played — that is the best way to describe the cellist Hendrik Blumenroth.

The violoncello is his voice, his partner and his daily motivation.
Chamber music is the medium in which he can express and fulfil himself most completely.

He pursues this passion above all as the cellist in the well-known delian::quartett. This quartet performs at major German and international concert venues with many innovative programmes that depart from the musical mainstream.

Other permanent ensembles are the Henschel Piano Trio, which he founded together with the first violinist of the Henschel Quartett, Christoph Henschel, and the Munich pianist Margarita Oganesjan, as well as a cello-piano duo, also with Margarita Oganesjan. He performs at various festivals with these and other partners, such as the clarinettist Pablo Barragán.

While a student at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München (University of Music and Performing Arts Munich) under Prof. Wen-Sinn Yang, Hendrik Blumenroth already focused intensively on chamber music, often winning national and international awards in various ensembles, for example, with his piano trio at the time, Trio Gaon, at the 2015 International Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna (3rd prize). He was given valuable artistic guidance by eminent chamber music experts such as Christoph Poppen and Hariolf Schlichtig.

As a soloist, Hendrik Blumenroth won the first prize at the 2009 Internationaler Bodensee-Musikwettbewerb (International Lake Constance Music Competition). In 2010, he was a prize-winner of the Münchner Konzertgesellschaft e.V. and at the August Everding Music Competition, at which latter he also won the audience award.

In his quest for a diverse musical training, Hendrik Blumenroth took on work commitments with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and as principal cellist with the Meininger Hofkapelle.
