For the Bavarian State Opera and FARAO classics, the production of Rodelinda, perhaps Handel’s loveliest opera, meant a long held dream coming true: combining the visual lavishness of the stage on film, with a musically and acoustically perfect sound-track.
When FARAO classics brought out the first Surround Sound recording of Wagner’s Die Walküre, the way was open for a new dimension in the reproduction of opera on disc. The magazine STEREO hailed the result as "a new standard". The same technology and attitude to the recorded sound have been applied to the DVD-Video production of Rodelinda.Whether you are listening in PCM-stereo or in dts-surround, you will see opera not only in brilliant digital picture quality, but also with natural sound for the perfect listening experience.

… this is a wonderful performance … Dorothea Röschmann is the finest Rodelinda I've heard and seen. (Her Penelope-like steadfastness always rings true, the voice is lovely and expressive, and in aria after aria she pinpoints Rodelinda's feelings of sadness, anger, and (eventually) joy… The picture and sound are superb. This is a real stunner; highly recommended!
