Marta Klimasara, born in 1975 in Poland, has been living in Germany since 1994.
In 1999, the artist received 1st Prize at the "2nd World Marimba Competition" in Japan, as well as 2nd Prize at the "3rd Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition of Contemporary Music" in Cracow.
Marta Klimasara was a scholarship holder of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe and of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg.
In 2001, she won 1st Prize at the ARD Music Competition in the category "percussion". Furthermore, she received an award by the European Art Foundation in Strasbourg for her exceptional musical and artistic personality.
Since the summer of 2004, Marta Klimasara is a professor for percussion at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.
